Pelican - the world market leader for protective cases
Pelican is a "garage" company founded in 1976 by Dave Parker and his wife Arline in California, USA. Parker found his motivation in his passion for diving, which required reliable and rugged suitcases for equipment and flashlights, but was not available on the market. At least not in the desired quality. After several years of development and hard work, Pelican's first products came to market - including protective cases.
With the acquisition of Pelican by private equity firm Behrman Capital and the appointment of Microsoft former manager Lyndon Faulkner as new CEO in 2004 and 2006, the company experienced rapid growth. In 2008, Pelican embarked on a strong expansion strategy that resulted in the company now having 28 offices in 21 countries. Around 1,300 employees work for the company, which operates six manufacturing facilities in North America, Europe and Australia. One of them is located in Germany, in Crottendorf in Saxony. In the same year, Pelican bought its competitor Hardigg Industries and overnight became the world's largest manufacturer of protective equipment.
In 2012, Pelican increasingly opened its doors to consumers and introduced a versatile range of consumer products that were similar in characteristics to products for professionals, trade and government. In order to better serve the various markets, three separate business units were introduced for private individuals, businesses and public authorities, as well as BioThermal. BioThermal protective cases are used to safely transport temperature-sensitive products (e.g. vaccines and biologics). The Pelican BioThermal division emerged from the acquisitions of Minnesota Thermal Science in 2013 and Cool Logistics in 2014, two leading manufacturers of temperature-controlled transport containers.

Peli Products S.L.U. was founded in 1997 to represent the American company in Europe. With the location in Barcelona, Spain, the needs of the European markets and customers could be better served. Today, business is conducted from Barcelona in 25 countries of the European Union and more than 25 countries in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Peli cases for hunting weapons & hunting equipment
Peli's range includes various protective cases for various purposes - including the transport and protection of weapons and sensitive equipment. Even customer-specific solutions for electronic devices - such as the camera for digiscoping - are available. All products offer absolute resistance, best protection against water, moisture, dust and even chemicals. Peli is the inventor of indestructible cases for the highest demands.
The two product ranges Peli Cases and Peli Storm Cases offer a choice of 70 injection-moulded cases in different sizes and designs. The cases were developed together with professionals and tested under the toughest conditions. With their impact-resistant, robust and waterproof properties, the Peli cases even meet military requirements. The cases are made of polypropylene and ABS plastic, which are absolutely impact-resistant materials that also reliably prevent water from penetrating. Furthermore, the protective cases have integrated pressure compensation valves. This protects the weapon and equipment from moisture even if the protective case should float in the water, and enables it to be opened even after strong pressure changes (height). Depending on the model, one or more hunting weapons can be transported in the foam-cushioned interior.
Depending on the model, the protective cases have very special features:
- Temperature resistance from -40°C to 99°C
- buoyancy up to e.g. 62 kg, 127 kg or 226 kg
- 2 or 4 castors for easy transport
For the equipment - for example camera, telescope, tripod - protective cases with corresponding foam padding are available. Even for other devices such as laptops and notebooks or smartphones, Peli offers protective cases for safe transport - also with pressure compensation valves and foam padding to protect against scratches and shocks. This means that all equipment can be transported safely, waterproof and shockproof. Hunting weapons and equipment are protected especially during air travel.
