The Leupold Quick Release rifle scope mount has several advantages for hunters and marksmen. First and foremost, as the name suggests, it can be quickly detached from the hunting rifle. This is an advantage during transport if you do not want to transport the scope and the hunting rifle together. In addition, it enables a very fast exchange of the target optics - for example from the big rifle scope to the target optics for a driven hunt (scope, Aimpoint or Doctersight).
The Quick Release assembly works with a plug-in connection and not, as is often the case, with hook-in or swivel systems. The two lower parts are connected to the two upper parts via precisely fitting pins. The upper parts are in turn connected to the telescopic sight to form a fixed unit. The rings are locked in place and released using levers. This allows the rifle scope to be removed or reattached quickly and with little effort. However, you should take into account that there is no safety device for the levers. Therefore it is important to make sure that the clamping levers do not come loose when roaming through bushes.

Another advantage of the Quick Release scope mounts from the American manufacturer Leupold: Compared to other products, this rifle scope assembly is much cheaper. Disadvantages in precision, repeat accuracy and bullet resistance, however, are not noticeable. However, it has to be taken into account that the Quick Release mount does not use screws to correct height and side. The lower parts of the Quick Release mounts are suitable for bolt action rifles such as the Sauer 202 or Mauser Mod 98. The assembly can also be adapted to other models by the gunsmith using gunsmith blanks.
