In principle, the mounting of a rifle scope with a modern inner rail offers many advantages over the classic ring mount. Not only when using Safari calibers with a big recoil, but also due to the fact that the target optics can be mounted tension-free with an inner rail. There is no need to align the reticle and, if you one day wish to move the scope to another gun, there are no visible marks on the scope body.

The Swarovski SR rail in particular is the most technically advanced inner rail, as it transmits the recoil forces in a form-fit manner via a tooth profile. From a purely technical point of view, nothing can slip - even when using a recoil-strong big game rifle.

When shooting at long range, rings can help to adjust the point of impact by choosing a version with a forward tilt.
